This is the best make of heat gun that I have found. I hope you enjoy using it. Heat guns are excellent for distressing synthetic fabrics, particularly for making beads.
See my book Hot Textiles to see just how versatile these tools are.
There are 4 things you need to know about these heat guns
- They are different to the photograph on the box they are packed in. The end of the tool now has a cover on to protect your naughty little fingers from getting burnt – you still need to be careful and avoid touching the end of the tool when you have been using it
- Always hold the tool at least an inch away from your work. It is more efficient at that distance and allows air to circulate around the motor
- The tool may cut out after you have been using it for a while. Don’t worry, you haven’t broken it. The thermostat will have cut in. Just go and make a cup of tea or get on with something else for 10 minutes or so
- ALL WAYS WORK IN A WELL VENTILATED ROOM. If in doubt about what you are heating – wear a respirator!
- Have fun!
